    This is probably the most open camping spot in the valley. What were once cattle grazing paddocks now provide open grassland for kangaroos to feed on.

    There is a large area with toilet near the ruined homestaed (256056E 6256609N, 33°48'09.6"S, 150°21'53.6"E) close to the river. There is also a suitable area near the old Maxwell homestead (56S 256000E 6256787N, 56S  33°48'03.8"S, 150°21'51.5"E).
